How do I get the most from my portfolio?
  • Photos, photos and more photos. The best way to make it in this business is to display your work. You wouldn't go to a job interview without your resume or a portfolio of your best work, would you? FreelanceModels acts as an online resumé for the whole world to see, so you need to provide us with the best you have to offer. If you don't provide us with any images, or just a couple, then you have almost no chance of being contacted for work. These images need to be high-quality, and they need to represent the full range of your versatility as an artist.
  • Use the site to its full potential. Don't just upload your profile and sit back and wait for the million dollar contracts to just roll in. You have to market yourself to other models, photographers and talent agencies, and this is best done by contacting them and promoting yourself to them.
  • Always keep your profile and email address up-to-date. Make sure that all your profile information is correct; spelling counts. Check your email frequently.
  • As with any job hunt, keep in contact with employers and associates, even if you do not wish to work with them at the time. Send thank-you notes and keep in touch with associates and past employers; you never know when those thank-you notes and hello messages will come in handy. The adage "out of sight, out of mind" should never apply.
